A great, easy read from Mr. Hutchinson and Mr. Levitan. I read it in a couple of hours over a coffee. As an avid reader what I found most refreshing was this book offered new insights and tips on how to judge business opportunities that are often overlooked or not spoken about but are used by the most successful individuals when they are reviewing new opportunities. This book also makes you think and reflect on what are your strengths and suggests that you judge each new opportunity against your strengths. It seems common sense but most people make decisions based on emotion rather doing what successful people do which is step back, look at the big picture and see if they can leverage their strengths in the new opportunity and if this opportunity is something they can excel at on a consistent basis. I loved the quotes " The scariest thing in the world is not knowing your strengths" and " In today's world working for yourself is actually the safer route and working for a corporation has become the riskier proposition". Isn't that the truth on both accounts. Most people never truly spend the reflective time to discover what their strengths or talents are and then use those talents and passion to become successful. Relationship marketing works, a person just needs to find the right opportunity they believe in. Would you rather be pitched by a stranger on TV, radio or in a print ad or would you rather a have a friend or relative who you like and trust refer you a product or service ? I would encourage everyone who is looking at a business opportunity to read this book first so they can avoid the 7 common mistakes most people make.
When I received this book, I didn't know what to do with it. I looked at it as a book for those that are in direct sales. Well... It is. And it isn't.

Currently I'm building a referral network of affiliates. Some of them I contact cold and others are warm.

This book helped me to get real clear on what I needed to STOP in order to be more successful at what I'm currently doing.

I only gave it a 4/5 because it was slanted more toward direct sales but had enough to help me succeed in what I'm doing now as an affiliate marketer.
